I found this work ina Music and Art magazine which the college provides and Ana Cuba's work caught my eye of the disfiguration of the human figure after an operation or accident and you have a scar. Her work related to me greatly as i have body difiguration and its nice that an artist has used this in her work to show awareness and things that can happen to your body. I have very simular scars but i think scars have stories within them and that the memorable and mayb something not to be ashammed of but as many people dont have scars they seemed freaked out when they see them. I would do body disfiguration with my experiences, but due to other people not liking it or me being different it lowers my self confidence. As artists my point out these disfirguration other people may come more aware and not be as freaked out. Overall, very effective work as it makes people think of what people have and that its not abnormality its just life and we are all unique, theres no wrong or right so people shouldnt feel wiery of others opinions but we do.
