Crits.
We had crits on our work with our peer students and our tutors helping us to know what its like to view others work from others eyes. As from working on my work so long I think it has lost its meaning and value to meself. If others don't find it too disinteresting to view, even though they don't know the meaning behind it. I am satisfied.
From one peer student, they said that from knowing visually what dyslexia I slike and the frustration when working with written work. This then helps them to help others maybe friends or family who have the same problem, to brake things down to make tasks easier.
The Exhibition Night.
I used this sentence earlier on my blog,
That's how I can refer to Ana Cuba- Body Distortion shown earlier in my work, which is putting out to others not to judge people before finding out the story behind the disfiguration.
It comes round again to the night of my exhibition, were viewers of my work are early to judge before looking future into my work and known the meaning behind it. It creates frustration and ignorance in the maker or the person with the figuration. So before judging on work or the person with disfiguration, think and appreciate before jumping to conclusions.
Also the free hanging shows the insecurity and deflation of others when others judge you before understanding the problem.
To hold the head up to give it a bit of life, we used invisible string tided to the head and round the spot life which was clipped on the top of the board. As the exhibition started getting going the invisible string melted so the head unfortunately gradually fell lower and lower so I will have to attend college one day to fix it for the people who are viewing through out the week aswell as helping out in the shop.
Finally, what I really didn't agree with was everyone trying to sell work to save for their next step in higher education, as its an end of year art exhibition not an exhibition. Where I think the shop and trying to get lots of people to buy work, took viewers away from the fact its an end of year show, which was disappointing to me.
