Brusho powders 2012

I found a box of brusho, which is powered dye which you can sprinkle on to any material which is wet. As the dye meets the material, its spreads out looking a little like a firework on paper.

Taster in the studio 2012

Me and Fozia had a taster in the studio, seeing how to use things and also what effects we can make. I made a very short video of my prints of Darwen tower. I really enjoyed it cause now I can use this later in my work and in my FMP. I think exploring as much as I can this year so I have more knowledge and tecniques in my work, ready for the next step in my life.

These photos below are from inside the studio and Alex a boy on my course who helped me out greatly on the camera whilst filming.

This is the setup in the studio were I will film my work. Firstly we made a plinth to display my work on, so it looked effective when filming.

The two screens above show that on the right screen that is a preview of what you are or would be filming, which is then connected to different ways on how to bring in other images from the other cameras. So the screen on the left shows what angle the cameras are, which is easy to compare the different persissions ready to film. This was an exellent experiance on how all the technology works so i am ready incase I would like to film or even edit something later in my course.

This is me and alex trying sort out all the lighting out because as you looked at it with the nacked eye, it was different on sreen or when filming.

Clay experimentation 2012

This morning I experianced and had a go with clay with Jo. Its a very time consuming and patient process. But I really enjoyed it. I made a type of 3D piece which shows a small variety of textures.

This afternoon I sorted out my draw were I keep all my work to see what I have done and what I need to do to achieve for the christmas assessment.
Had a quick discussion with Jo on what to do so I made a little list over the page. Then decided how to round up my first project up ready for next week. So I can start Part 2 and the book project with out worrying about part 1.

- Influenced by classical music, he lives in manorca and been invited over hear to display his work in Blackburn Museum.
-His work is very deep and distinctively done by a man

-Influenced by Katherine Ferry who brought him to Blackburn and King Georges Hall as she found his work.
-He only uses oils, and layers his work and all brush work.
-He useswet paint on wet paint or wet paint on dry to form texture.
-Very political and has a open mind to contextual art.
-In october he is showing his work in the art fair.
-Use to teach children with disabilities, but after finding out he had multicurosis from being constantly being tired, so lost the abillity to that any longer so moved on to being a full time artist.

-Selling a paint is work, you cant keep hold of all your painting for ever, you have to let go.
-The art you are working on is a master piece, when you have finished it, its crap.

-he painted figurative paintings for 15 years then moved on to abstract.
-He wanted to find his voice so that ment moving forward to abstract art. But didnt feel confident or connect with it until he heard music. He links music with art by rhythm and colour.
- Kandinsky - influenced by jazz.
more info can be found on his website which you can find in my book
It influenced him greatly that kathy was singing her heart out even though she knew she was dying of cancer.

Roundabout activity- week 4
Printmaking
We did screen printing and made many prints today on wood and paper. I really enjoyed this doing it on many different materials.
I wasn't able to do many prints which was a shame, due to having a guy in my group with his image on the same screen. So we had to keep sharing and swopping over. I may use printmaking later on the course.
